Giulia Heyward is a multimedia reporter based in the South. Currently, she's a Roy H. Park Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, working towards her M.A. in Journalism. She is working with Dr. Trevy McDonald on a podcast surrounding food culture and independent literature. She is also the research assistant for the Durham-based podcast, The Double Shift.

She’s worked as a news producer for WSLR 96.5, reporting on local politics in Sarasota, including coverage of the 2018 gubernatorial elections. She’s had the opportunity to attend AIR’s Full Spectrum Intensive Class and the 2018 Grassroots Radio Conference. She also attended Columbia University’s Multimedia Storytelling Intensive Workshop.

She’s written on everything from reality TV to homelessness advocacy for Sarasota Magazine. Her piece on students participating in nude figure modeling was published on Unravel. She’s also written film reviews for Columbus Alive! and local news for Columbus Monthly Magazine. She was the editor-in-chief of her college newspaper, the Catalyst.
